Phoenix Lanes
Web Site - page two

Phoenix Lanes' History - - - Phoenix lanes opened for business for the first time on June 17, 1958. It was built by my parents, W.P. and Irene Cashdollar and operated by them until 1976, when they retired and I took over as Proprietor. It is a small (16 lane) center with a first class operation that is second to none!

Our primary objective is to cater to our League bowlers, because we know that without them, Phoenix Lanes would cease to exist. We find that our philosophy of keeping a clean, well maintained center with friendly employees who enjoy their job is what keeps our leagues full. No amount of modern glamour or a "video game" atmosphere will make up for the plain, old fashioned appreciation that your customers are there because they want to be!

The Great Fire - - - On December 28, 1992, the entire right front 1/3 of the building was gutted by a fire that started in a faulty air-conditioning unit. This forced us to be closed for almost 4 months while a total remodeling from the approaches back took place. We installed new AMF Accuscore scoring equipment with full League Service as well as a state-of-the-art computed controlled environmental system. We also took advantage of the down time to refurbish all of our 44 year old pin spotters. Since we were in the middle of the League season, we were able to locate lanes for all our Leagues to continue bowling while we rebuilt. All our leagues returned to us the next season! (and let us know how happy they were to be back!)
I guess you could say the fire was a blessing in disguise, but I would never go through that again!
